Frequently Asked Questions
What is Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)?
+Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) refers to highly autonomous systems that exhibit advanced learning, adaptation, and reasoning across diverse domains. Unlike narrow AI systems designed for specific tasks, AGI would have broadly capable AI systems with human-like cognitive abilities, including the ability to learn, adapt, and reason effectively across multiple domains.
How does BRAIN incorporate Indian ethos into AI research?
+BRAIN integrates Indian philosophical principles, ethical frameworks, and cultural contexts into AI development. This includes emphasizing values like inclusivity, diversity, and sustainable progress, while drawing inspiration from ancient Indian knowledge systems to inform modern AI research methodologies and applications. Our research places a strong emphasis on ethics, safety and cultural alignment, as reflected in our Sanskrit shlokas that guide our principles.
What is the Philosophy of BRAIN Journal (Anvikshiki)?
+The BRAIN Journal, known as "Anvikshiki: Communications in AI Research," is our scholarly publication. The name Anvikshiki (आन्वीक्षिकी) means "The Science of Inquiry" and refers to systematic investigation, critical examination, and logical reasoning. It encompasses principles of logical thinking and analytical reasoning, making it an apt name for our journal focused on AGI research. As Kautilya noted, it is the "lamp of all sciences" because it uses reason to illuminate all other fields of knowledge.
